Combo with Bar and Line

If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart.  You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application.  Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.        

Data Table
  • Graph Type is Combo.
  • X Data Type is Label.  Labels for the X Axis are entered in X Data column. A dummy row (a micro space  character ‘|’) is inserted in Row 1 to create a gap on the left side of the chart frame.
  • Graph A contains the Bar data.
  • Graph B contains the Line data.
 Edit Chart      

    Settings

  • Click on Graph Type for Graph A.  Select “Bar” from Graph Type list.
  • Click on Graph Style to set the Color and Pattern for Graph A.
  • Click on Graph Type for Graph B.  Select “Line” from Graph Type list.
  • Click on Graph Style for Graph B to set the Color, Thickness and Type for Line B.  Check Line with Markers.  Set the Marker Color, Type and Size.  Note the marker color to be different from the line color.

    Y Axis Settings

  • Enter values for Minimum, Maximum, Major Div, Minimum Start,  and Maximum End.  Leave these values empty for automatic scaling.
  • Click on Major Grid. Check Grid On.  Select “2 – Line Type” from the Line Type list.

     Change Y Axis Label Position

  • Select the Left Y Axis Label once the chart is displayed on the Edit Chart Tab.  Click on the center “bubble” and hold the left mouse button to move the Left Y Axis Label inside the chart frame.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart to print your chart.
  •  Download Image to download your chart as SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF)..
  •  Drawing Objects to customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images and logo.
