Bar with Left Y Axis Break
If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.
Data Table
- Graph Type is Bar.
- X Data Type is Label. Labels for the X Axis are entered in X Data column.
- Graph A contains the data for the bar series. For this example, Graph A has a range of insignificant data that can be omitted.
Edit Chart
Settings
- Click on Graph Style to set the Color and Pattern for Graph A.
- Click on Frame Style/Bkgrd. Check Background On and select Color and Pattern for the frame background.
Y Axis
- Select “Left Y” from Axis Selection list. Enter values in Minimum and Maximum to set the entire Left Y Axis scale. Enter values for Minimum Start, Maximum End and Major Div to set the scale before the break.
- Values for this example are Minimum = 0, Maximum = 600, Major Div = 2, Minor Div = 2, Minimum Start = 0, and Maximum End = 40.
- Click on Major Grid. Check Grid On. Select “1-Line Type” from the Line Type list.
- Click on Axis Break to show the Left Y Axis Break menu. Enter values for From, To, At(Percent) and Break Location. Enter values for Major Div, Minor Div, Minimum Start, and Maximum Start for the After Break section. Check Enable Break.
- Values for this example are From = 50, To = 300, At(Percent) = 25, Major Div = 3, Minor Div = 5, Minimum Start = 300, and Maximum End = 600.
Edit Chart Toolbar Options
- Print Chart prints your chart.
- Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
- Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
