Scatter with Left Y and X Axis Breaks

If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.      

Data Table
  • Graph Type is Scatter.
  • X Data Type is set to “Number”. Numeric values for the X Axis are entered in X Data column. It has a range of insignificant data (100-500) that can be omitted.
  • Graph A contains the Left Y Axis data. It has a range of insignificant data (100-400) that can be omitted.
Edit Chart      

     Settings

  • Click on Graph Style for Graph A. Select the Marker Color, Type, and Size.
  • Click on Frame Style/Bkgrd. Check Background On. Select Color and Pattern for the frame background.

     Curves and Error Bars

  • Click on Curve Fit for Graph A. Select “Linear” from the Selection list. Uncheck Show Curve Fit equation.
  • Click on Curve Style for Graph A. Select Curve Color, Thickness, and Line Type for Curve A.

      X Axis Settings

  • Uncheck Draw Zero Axes.
  • Enter values for Minimum and Maximum to set the X Axis scale. Enter values for Minimum Start, Maximum End, and  Major Div to set the scale before the break.
  • Click on Axis Break to show the X Axis Break menu.  Enter values for From, To, and At(Percent) for Break Location. Enter values for Minimum Start and Maximum Start for After Break. Check Enable Break.

     Y Axis Settings

  • Select “Left Y” from Axis Selection list. Enter values in Minimum and Maximum to set the entire Left Y Axis scale. Enter values for Minimum Start, Maximum End and Major Div to set the scale before the break.
  • Click on Major Grid. Check Grid On.  Select “1–Line Type” from the Line Type list.
  • Click on Axis Break to show the Left Y Axis Break menu. Enter values for From, To, and Break Location. Enter values for Minimum Start and Maximum Start for After Break. Check Enable Break.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart prints your chart.
  •  Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
  •  Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
