Scatter with Polynomial Curvefit and Fill in log scale

If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.      

Data Table
  • Graph Type is Scatter.
  • X Data Type is Number. Numeric values for the X Axis are entered in X Data column.
  • Graph A contains the data values for Scatter A.
Edit Chart      

    Settings

  • Click on Graph Style for Graph A. Select the Marker Color, Type, and Size.
  • Select “None” from the Legend Placement list

    Curves and Error Bars

  • Click on Curve Fit for Graph A. Select “Polynomial” from the Selection list. Select “2” from the Polynomial Order list. Check Show Curve Fit equation (Uncheck this option if you do not wish to display the equation). Enter “3” in Decimal Places.
  • Click on Curve Style for Graph A. Select Curve Color, Thickness, and Line Type for Curve A. Select Fill Color and Pattern for fill below curve. Check Fill below Curve. Check Transparent Fill to see the scatter points behind the fill area.

    X Axis Settings

  • Enter values in Minimum, Maximum and Major Div to set the  X Axis scale and divisions. Leave these values empty for automatic scaling.

    Y Axis Settings

  • Select “Log” from the Scale list.
  • Click on Axis Format. Uncheck Auto Format On. Check Power notation for Log Log Axes.
  •  Enter values in Minimum, Maximum and Major Div to set the Left Y Axis scale and divisions. Leave these values empty for automatic scaling.

     Reposition Curve Equation

  • Click on the Curve Equation once the chart is displayed on the Edit Chart Tab. Click on the center “bubble” and hold the left mouse button to move the Curve Equation to a new location on the chart.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart prints your chart.
  •  Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
  •  Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
