Box Whisker Chart

If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.  

Data Table
  • Graph Type is “Box-Whisker”.
  • X Data Type is “Label”. The X Data column is not used in Box-Whisker plot.
  • Graph A through E contains the group of data for distribution analysis. In this example, each graph series has 100 data points and it can be displayed with BoxWhiskerSample DataMean, and Standard Deviation.
Edit Chart

     Box-Whisker Settings

  • Check on Box, Whisker, Sample Data, Mean, Mean & Standard Dev.

     Settings

  • Click on Legend Text for Graph A. Enter “Test A” in Graph A legend. Repeat this step for Graph B to E. The legend text that you entered are for X Axis labels.
  • Click on Graph Style for Graph A. Set Line Color and Thickness for Graph A Box, Whisker, Mean, & Standard Dev. Set Marker Color, Type and Size for Graph A Sample Data. Repeat this step for Graph B to E.

     Y Axis 

  • Enter values in Minimum, Maximum, and Major Div to set the Y axis scale and divisions. Leave these values empty for automatic scaling.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart prints your chart.
  •  Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
  •  Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
