Polar Plot

If you are a registered user, you can click on the Edit Graph button to open the TechGraph Editor showing the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.        

Data Table
  • Graph Type is Polar.
  • X Data Type is Number. Data for a Polar Plot is entered as angle-radius (Φ,r) pairs. Enter the angle Φ (in degrees) in the X Data column.
  • Graph A and B has the corresponding radius data.
Edit Chart

    Polar Settings

  • Enter “8” in Angle Major Div to set the number of major divisions in the angular direction.
  • Enter “4” in Radius Major Div. Enter “20” in Maximum Radius to set the maximum value for the Radial axis.

     Settings 

  • Click on Graph Style for Graph A and B. Set the Color, Line Thickness, and Type for Polar Line A and B. Check Line with Markers. Set the Marker Color, Type, and Size. Note that the marker color can be different from line color.
  • Click on Frame Style/Bkgrd. Check Background On. Set Color and Pattern for the polar frame background.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart prints your chart.
  •  Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
  •  Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
Getting Started:
