Scatter and Error Bars for Lollipop Chart

When you click on the Edit Graph button, the TechGraph Editor will open with the data and settings of this sample chart. You can review and edit the data and settings to learn about the features and capabilities of the application. Shown below are the steps in the Data Table and in the Edit Chart used to create this chart.    

Data Table
  • Graph Type is Scatter.
  • X Data Type is “Label”. Label values are entered in X Data column. Note that subscript tags (<sub></sub>) are supported in labels.
  • Enter the mean values in Graph A, C, E and G.
  • Click on Data Options on the Data Table toolbar and select Transform. Enter “B” in Dest Col. Enter appropriate values in Start Row and End Row. Enter “C-A” in Transform Equation. This will calculate the error values for Graph B.
  • Repeat the above step for Graphs D and F. For Graph D, enter “D” in Dest Col and enter “E-C” in Transform Equation. For Graph F, enter “F” in Dest Col and enter “G-E” in Transform Equation.
Edit Chart      

    Settings

  • Click on Graph Style option for Graph A, C, E and G. Set the Marker Color, Type, and Size.
  • Click on Frame Style/Bkgrd. Check Background On and set Color and Pattern for the frame background.

     Curves and Error Bars

  • Select “Error Bar On” from Error Bar for Graph A list.
  • Click on Error Format for Graph B. Uncheck Error Caps On. Select “Up Only” from Error Bar Format list.
  • Select “Error Bar On” from Error Bar for Graph C list.
  • Click on Error Format for Graph D. Uncheck Error Caps On. Select “Up Only” from the Error Bar Format list.
  • Select “Error Bar On” from Error Bar for Graph E list.
  • Click on Error Format for Graph F. Uncheck Error Caps On. Select “Up Only” from the Error Bar Format list.

     Y Axis Settings

  • Enter values for Minimum, Maximum, Major Div, Minimum Start, and Maximum End.

     Edit Chart Toolbar Options

  •  Print Chart prints your chart.
  •  Download Image downloads your chart as an SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) file or image file(PNG, JPEG, TIF, PDF).
  •  Drawing Objects customize your chart with labels, lines, arrows, circles, images, and logos.
